Bio

A young dwarf at 23 years old, Durgim was abandoned by his parents the day he was born and raised by a female deer-type Arian, with the only connections to his past being a small note, stating his name, a forging hammer, and a silver axe- seemingly as old as Durgim himself. With ginger hair and a fiery personality to go along with it, Durgim made no friends in the forest. As he grew, only the reminders of his mother kept him from snapping. After a particularly vicious fight with a bear during his teenage years, Durgim’s mother made him promise to pick his battles before forcing him to tend to the bear while it healed. The fiery anger living within the young boy was tempered with the waters of temperance and humility on that day. The next year, his mother taught Durgim the art of weaving, and -unsurprisingly- he excelled, easily making clothes, baskets, and various other items. The fire of a craftsman was ignited within the young boy, as he went out of his way to find new things to create, along with the new methods required to do so. And now, at the age of 20, Durgim’s mother sent him into the world. She felt the forest was restraining him, and that only by experiencing more could he truly blossom into the man he was meant to be. Giving him her life’s savings she sent him on a trip, keeping only a self-portrait he had done of himself as a present a few years ago. A few days after he left, she finally passed away after living until 40.

After his mother passed Durgim went to the Dwarven settlement of Dundirth where his talent as a craftsman came to light. He quickly made weapons that rivaled those years his seniors, however, he was deceived by higher ranked dwarf and forced out of the city on suspicion of betrayal. Once outside the veil placed over his eyes was lifted, he noticed the horrible things being done to nature, and disgusted started to look for a way to help the Priores while keeping the amazing technology he had seen from stagnating as it had before the humans had arrived. Progress thrilled him, however, the greed, hatred, envy, and death that accompanied it terrified the young dwarf. With hope and naivety leading Durgim, he set off to attempt to make a difference. He hopes to have a forge set up in Maple Wharf in order to produce dwarven weapons and advance his trade.
