The Oathkeepers

The Oath is not a single interpretation, there multiple conflicting parts of it shared freely and used in various corners of Argento. Someday this fracture in the whole could cause a catastrophic shattering of the order.

On 17th of September, 1850 the old order was ended following 25 years of service. Though to be fair it failed at its primary duty of making a balance to the world. In its, place, the newly appointed Governor Asubi Nori declared that there would be an order known as the Oathkeepers. Two days later as he revealed the fact those who belonged to the old order save for the head, Nicholai Cromwell had a choice to remain with it in the recreation or to part ways. Following a bit of an exit, those who had been former associates and simply on the fringes had the chance to be taken in as full members. Few of them took it instead the Governor himself supplied a lot of men who he knew were loyal to him.

The named leader of the Oathkeepers a half-elf Elthorn Daris, was allowed to conscript others freely. He picked those who had been on the lowest of the pecking order form both Silver Town and Maplewharf creating a new collection of members bolstering and rebuilding their ranks with members. Following this he drafted the Oath the keepers would be following:

   Following this, the Oathkeepers began in earnest attempting to make sure to keep a more active presence a great deal of members both those loyal to the Governor and those drafted by the Chief as he was called had larger presences and true patrols in the two cities in the region. They always were paired with those of the opposite side to keep a balanced and fair view on all situations as best they can.

   The prison on the other hand within the island. Filled with those who had wronged the Elves and had crossed the Governor or the Oathkeepers in the past three years had mainly been protected by Aurum Soldiers. The last known company of Elven soldiers within Argento acting as prison guards for those prisons from their invasion three years prior. Still a handful of the guard duty soldiers have taken great pleasure in taunting those who thought they could make a difference by standing up to them all those years ago.

   Rumors swirl though, of an order known as the Oathbreakers. The fallen members and those who refused the new Oathkeeper’s post made up of those from the old way. Watching this new order and forcing them to keep their Oath. Punishing those who break their oath and preparing and waiting for the chance to free their brothers in arms in the prison. News of the return of this last Company of Aurum soldiers with Lady Ayla Luna’s return to Argento after three years in the capital.
