History

Nathaniel grew up in Moscow, Russia where he was raised in a household of three younger sisters. His parents loved the idea of having a boy as their first born, especially his father. His mother was a quiet lady who saw a lot after marrying his father but never said anything. His father was a crime boss in Russia, one of the largest crime families in the area.

 

When Nathaniel was coming into manhood, his father began having him along for ‘business’ trips. These typically handled things like trafficking girls or taking care of someone who had wronged the family. When Nathaniel would tag along for these trips, he was typically part of the cleanup detail, meaning he disposed of the bodies so no one would ever find them. By the time Nathaniel was eighteen he could clean a murder scene spotless in less than thirty minutes.

 

As he began to reach adulthood, Nathaniel was very good at starting to do other things for the family. He was the one who suggested to their father that they begin to deal in drugs. His father allowed this, letting Nathaniel take care of the majority of that business. It wasn't long before Nathaniel knew every in and out of the workings that went into their family business. He helped to initiate members, take care of big drug deals, purchase and sell girls, even show people what happened when you messed with their dealings. He had bought out most of the local authorities and even a select few of the men in charge. He was the one in charge, his father taking a back burner.

 

There was a point in time when his father even thought Nathaniel was going too far in some aspects, even confronting Nathaniel one time. It had been one of his younger sister's husbands, one of the men that worked for them. Nathaniel had become paranoid that this man was betraying information to a rival family, beating the man within an inch of his life. His sister had tried to step in to stop him, but he was backhanded her as well. When his father had learned of this he tried to step back in, explaining that he thought Nathaniel wasn't quite ready yet. They found him the next day, laying in his bed. He had been poisoned.

 

After the murder of his father a lot of the family began to rebel against Nathaniel. He made the decision then to leave Russia and start his own business. Some of the men who were still loyal to him followed. They set up shop in France for a time, learning and growing with having his own business.

 

When he had turned twenty-nine, Nathaniel was doing a transaction with a very old man. This man had told Nathaniel about the excessive amounts of money that went into selling girls for not only appeasing men, but also feeding into the desires of the Vrykolakas. Nathaniel was fascinated by this new business venture, but also the aspect of living for an eternity. He convinced this man he was worthy of being able to live that long and finally turned Nathaniel. After this the man disappeared with a good sum of money for his services.

 

Centuries passed and his business grew larger and larger. He became one of the best known crime lords in the region. He went into the trading if girls for being blood whores for men in brothels. In the early 1800s he began to hear news about a town just beginning to settle after a man discovered the silver mines so close to it. It would be a place where his business could thrive from all the supernaturals situated there and the naive mortals. He knew his blood whoring was bound to make him quite a bit of money there. He ended up making Ravina the Fair his biggest buyer due to her brothel. He kept a few around for himself, of course. He was in an exchange for girls at a port when he met the lovely Ophelia.

 

When he first met Ophelia, he found the young girl entertaining and lovely. He had been thinking a lot of continuing his bloodline and maybe even leaving his empire to a child. A progeny. From the moment he met Fee, he knew she would be capable of handling his lifestyle and business someday. When her father caught onto what he was and what he did, threatening to tell Ophelia the truth, Nathaniel had him and his wife killed. When Fee came to him, begging for him to take her with him, he found it to be the most excellent situation. He agreed to her pleas under the condition that he may turn her and she was to eventually take over his business some day when he passed. She agreed and the two formed a sort of parent child relationship.

 

He wants Ophelia to take over the business some day but typically keeps the girl in the dark on what exactly the business is. He keeps a tight rein in her, insisting she socialize with people equal to her status and forbids her from prying into any business affairs he attends to. He loves Ophelia in his own special way, as a father might love his heir, his daughter. While people may think the two are involved, they are not in any sort of romantic relationship.
